Honolulu Cafe (Singapore)

Honolulu is finally here in Singapore! Save your air fare and all you need is to make your way down to Centrepoint to enjoy this well known Cha Chaan Teng from Hong Kong!

Mr Luo, the winner of 2010 international Hong Kong Tea competition and 2011 Hong Kong Yuan Yang Competition will be stationed in Honolulu Singapore outlet to ensure the good quality of the milk tea.

Yuan Yang [$3.30]Legit milk tea and it would never disappoint  because Mr Luo is here to ensure everything is on point! Do not expect this to be the usual Teh which we drink in Singapore because it is the bitterness from the tea that makes this a legit teh from Hong Kong.

Egg Tart [$1.70 each]Honolulu is well known for their egg tarts and this is something you can’t miss if you ever travel to Hong kong! They freeze the dough overnight to fold 192 layers in order to have a crispy and flaky crust and the egg custard is just so smooth and soft! I am not a fan of egg tarts, but this has definitely won my heart. Limited quantities will be available for sale everyday so if go there as early as you can to avoid disappointment!

Pineapple bun with butter [$2]Since Honolulu is well known for their baked goods, how could we miss this delicious pineapple bun out right! The Soft and buttery buns are reasonably good but I still prefer the ones in Kam Wah! Eat it while its hot !

Pork Chop Bun[$5]When we talk about pork chop bun, we would naturally think of the one at Lan Fong Yuen. Which one do I prefer? I am inclined to choose the latter. The pork bun at Honolulu tastes decent but definitely not something that I would order again. Pork slice is too thin and taste a little bland.

Chicken Wings with Swiss Sauce [$6]No, nothing to do with swiss, but they called it chicken wings with swiss sauce. The chicken wings are actually braised with sesame oil. Meat is tender and tasty. One of the better dishes in the cafe.

Deep fried egg puffs [$2]We frowned when we tried these deep fried egg puffs. It just tastes as if the puff is soaked with lots of oil and when you bite it, you just taste nothing but the oiliness of the puff.

Sweet and Sour Pork [$7.80, with rice]This dish came just in time to satisfy my recent sweet and sour pork craving. It tastes more sourish ,very different compared to the sweet and sour pork from zhi char places. It may taste sourish in the beginning, but somehow it just makes you want to have more.

Curry Fish Balls [$3]Very addictive! The curry was imported from Hong Kong and the fish balls are just soft and bouncy! If only we can make this spicier!

Fried flat noodle with beef [$7]
Noodles are too bland and there were only few slices of beef. Order only if you have extra space in your tummy.
